A very warm welcome to All Saints CE (VA) Junior School in Fleet

Coronavirus Update

17th March 2020

Dear Parents

Thank you for your continued support of All Saints and the education system.  Life within school is very normal and that is just how it should be! Science week is in full swing throughout the school.  However, it is a time for preparation and so I’d like to update you on some of the additional measures we are taking to protect our community from today. In a bid to minimize our mass gatherings we have cancelled all assemblies and will decrease numbers at lunchtime eating together. We have a highly focused cleaning regime.

At All Saints we are very fortunate to have a highly committed staff team, who are offering to cover any gaps that might appear in staffing for the time being.  However, it is inevitable that gaps will appear, as of today we have three team members self-isolating with their families – one who is symptomatic. Other members of the staff team are at high risk of catching the virus, so we would ask you to support us by remaining vigilant around symptoms within the family:

  • New persistent cough
  • High temperature

If symptoms do arise with any member of the family, please check online with the 111 health check and follow advice.  This might mean that you and the family are asked to self-isolate for 14 days.  If children show symptoms during the day we will contact you to collect them from us.

As we now have a number of pupils self-isolating at home alongside their families, and may face a national school closure, we would like to direct you to the Home Learning resources available on DBPrimary.  This is a system that the children are familiar with and has a wealth of resources.  It will also enable us to upload additional resources if the absence from school is going to be prolonged.

Home Learning for Absence

  • Please continue to read regularly and keep reading diaries up to date (30-40 minutes per day)
  • DBPrimary Learning Pathway has a wide range of learning resources for home learning including mathematics
  • Times Tables Rock Stars
  • Spellingframe
  • Year 6 only: Use of Revision booklets alongside of the DBPrimary Learning Pathway (these will ensure your child is getting ‘Secondary Ready’)

All the online resources need a child log-on so please do ensure your child has their log-on details.

And whilst this is a time of anxiety, remember that the days are lighter and brighter and we are encouraged to get outdoors, exercise and enjoy the fresh air.

Yours sincerely

Tracey Brunton

Dear parents/carers

A very warm welcome to All Saints CE (VA) Junior School in Fleet.  We are immensely proud of our school and hope that you and your child will enjoying being part of our community.  All Saints is a special place to grow, with the widest opportunities on offer for every child.  When I look at the Year 6 pupils – I see individuals ready to learn, quick to take responsibility and to eager take their place in the world.

It is a happy place to learn - based in one building with a strong family feel

We strive for excellence in all we do – in music, sport, and the arts and in academic standards.  In 2018 the school achieved standards significantly above the national and Hampshire averages, and will do again this coming year.  We are proud of our academic success and strive for further excellence – however we firmly believe in educating the whole child.  Our curriculum is broad and organised through ‘Learning Adventures’ which engage the children in a Driving Question with a ‘real world’ outcome.  The curriculum remains broad throughout the whole of the time your child is with us.  We have a fifty strong orchestra, many sporting activities and a wide range of clubs and extra-curricular activities for children to take part in – ranging from gardening to programming and chess.

We are a Lead Hub School for the National Whole Education schools network who at their very heart have a commitment to a Whole Education to grow the Whole Child.  We are also a Teaching Centre for Mathematics Mastery and are working with the Department for Education to host the Shanghai teachers in February.

We believe in children taking responsibility and encourage them to ‘step up to serve’ alongside of us.

We live out our values and encourage our children to do the same.  Our spiritual life, as a church school, is also important, and we offer many opportunities for children and families to grow together.

We do hope you and your child will want to join us.  We enjoy a close relationship with our community, and hope you will want to be part of it!
